Why did this update take so long

First of all, I’m sorry this dev cycle took so long. I went on lots of tangents which didn’t bear many fruits.
The first tangent was trying to get the game’s installer registered so players wouldn’t get a warning saying my game was a virus. However, it turned out I would have to pay a fee of around 100 pounds a year which didn’t make sense to pay in the current stage of development. After consulting fans of the game about how to approach this problem, I will give players the options to either installing the game or extracting it manually.
The second tangent was changing the input system. I initially swapped the games input system to use the new Unity input system. I found the new Unity input system clumsy and not fun to use at all so I searched for an alternative. This search led me to ‘Rewired’ after learning how it works, I have now successfully change the old input system to the new ‘Rewired’ input system.
After that, I did some refactoring of the games core mechanics and now adding new features will be much easier.

New features
- Control Menu
- Sensitivity Slider - Controls the overall Sensitivity for the player
- Horizontal Slider - Controls how quickly the player looks left and right
- Vertical Slider - Controls how quickly the player looks up and down
- ADS Slider - Changes how quickly the player looks around when aiming
- Social Media buttons - Just a quick way to get to my social media
- Twitter button - opens a webpage with my twitter profile
- Youtube button - opens a webpage with my youtube profile
- Itch.io button - opens a webpage with my game
New Weapon
- Kcholaki
- 5 shot revolver
- Reload length of ‘3’ seconds
- Firerate of 7 bullets per seconds
- Semi-automatic
- Medium handling speed
New Level
- Prototyping Level - This is temporary but I added it because I thought it would be fun.
Changes
- Changed the input system to use ‘Rewired’ this should add the ability to make adding controls easier in the future.
- Rifle
- Renamed ‘Rifle’ to the ‘Basolii’
- New Reload animation for the Rifle
- Reload Length increased from ‘3.17’ to ‘3.3’ seconds
- Oakath Watch Tower
- New weapon wall at the end of the corridor ‘Kcholaki’
- The Hold
- Added Text to the books. They look pretty now.
- Finally textures the shelves.
- Level selection now has images of the levels.
- Display Settings
- Added more aspect ratios (Mainly 21:9)

I think 3.64 is the optimum re-load length ... personally.
It would also be wise to Rewire the unity upside down.
